27th-Jul-2006 07:13 am - um... hello?
Yey I'm back. It's been ages since I last posted here. I finally found the time to update this site. So? What's new? I've been working for almost 5 months already in my new job. And it's not new anymore. One more month and I'll be a regular employee already. hehe. Good luck to me! I hope the evaluation turns out good.

Finally, I found a way to access this site. Many thanks to the wonders of proxies!!!

This has been one hell of a week for me. Checking queries is giving me eye sores already. Yes, this is what I do now. Farewell programming! It will be a while til I develop my next software application...

Whew! I just finished my bug fixing tasks but I’m still waiting for further revisions. There’re still some things that needs to be fixed. But I’m thinking of doing that after I get the test data I asked them to give me. Besides, what remains are just some minor revisions. I can do that in an hour or two.

25th-Jan-2006 01:25 pm - sleepy head
Right now, I can’t think of anything to do but to sleep. I was supposed to sleep early yesterday so that I can wake up early today for my scheduled exam. But Joe cooked his famous adobo without soy sauce last night. And he used a lot of vinegar. I couldn’t sleep. The fumes of boiling vinegar are all over the house. I was coughing hard on my way to sleep. I even sprayed perfume to cover the smell of vinegar.

So here I am with only 5 hours of sleep…

I woke up early today, conditioning myself as I prepare for my exam. And yes, I ATE BREAKFAST – something that I don’t normally do in my daily life.

The exam sucks! I can’t believe I woke up early just to spend 15 mins of my time taking that exam. I really can’t understand why they were asking me questions on ASP. For a moment, I was thinking of the position I applied. I am not applying for the ASP developer position. I can’t even remember there was an opening for that. I am applying for the Flash Developer position and no question was asked about Flash.

And so I took off early, feeling frustrated. What a day!

How’s the first week of the year treating you guys?

The year has just started and it greeted me with a bad news already… Anyway, I have no intentions of fretting on that issue. I’ve learned that I should not cling my wants on things that are not meant for me because it will only cause big time frustrations…

I’m on a verge of a big battle right now. It’s going to be a very big fight. And failure is not an option. Wish me good luck!

I did not imagine that I’ll get hooked up watching NARUTO. That’s how I spent my long weekend break – watching from the morning I woke up till late midnights. And I am still not finish! Six more cd’s to go. Go watch it! It’s about ninjas with bad childhood memories.

28th-Dec-2005 11:04 am - BUGS

A bug is an error to an application due to an incorrect business logic. Most of the times, this is caused by an incorrect implementation of a program specification. The instructions were laid and it was not followed. But the cause of the problem is not only bounded by that. An incorrect implementation is one thing; a misunderstanding between the software designer and the developer is another. Whatever the cause is, bugs are problems that need to be fixed.

Debugging is the process of fixing a bug. That’s what developers do. That’s part of what I do – to pinpoint the glitch in the system and undo it by all means necessary (Whoa!).

Someone once told me that there’s no “bug-free” system. Only time can tell when new bugs will be discovered for fixing. I guess this is a reflection of the imperfect developer who through this imperfection has shown he’s human after all. Everybody makes mistakes. And in software development, bugs exist because of these mistakes.

Every new bug is indeed a challenge. And like any other challenge, it’s an opportunity to test your skills and learn new things. Bugs are mistakes in which all developers can learn from.

22nd-Dec-2005 05:29 pm - Season's Greetings!

12 new bugs to fix! W00t w00t! I'm so happy!!! I have a new task for tomorrow. How I look forward to my busy day tomorrow. I can't wait!!! Work, work work... I have to work before Christmas comes knocking my door.

It is ironic how Christmas should be a happy occasion when there are a lot of SAD Christmas songs... Well, I guess Christmas wasn't able to please everyone. Besides the fact that "everyone" is a HUGE amount of number, it's also a HUGE amount of very diverse population where each individual is unique.

Based on what I observed, it is on occasions like this that certain individual issues come right straight to your face -- issues of being alone, of having nothing, of being unhappy with your life or your job... Maybe it's because we're brought up thinking that Christmas should be happy. That's why we seek for the things that we'll make us happy to later realize that we don't have them. But come to think of it, happiness is what you search in a journey called life. And you can't have that in just 1 day the minute the clock strikes 12.

Perhaps, Christmas is just a "break time" in this so called journey. A time to forget all your troubles and fears, to reminise the good things that happened and the lessons you've learned when you stumbled, to spread love since it was love that started this occasion anyway and a time to give and share... Merry Christmas!

Take a look at this article.

I am definitely past this stage(thank God I studied in UPLB). Away from all the sermons and the house rules. hahaha. And I turned out to be the "calm and collected" person I am now (naks!).

Finally, I finished customizing my blog! It’s not that hard after all. At first it was confusing. It’s not as lenient as blogspot, but once you get the hang of it, it’s quite easy… I hope you like it!

20th-Dec-2005 01:22 pm - It's Christmas and we're stripping
As Pinky told each and every one of us, this year's Christmas party will be a night to remember. And she's damn right! It was definitely a night to remember!!! We were divided into groups a month before the event. Each group must perform something for a minimum time of 5 minutes. All of us were aiming for the first prize of course! This was one hell of a night! Our group prepared a dance number to the tune of "Jumbo Hotdog" by the Masculados. They made me dance while I strip down to my boxers. hahaha. Sad to say, we landed second. The other group won by just 3.5 points... My groupmates were saying that it's the costume and the props that made them win... Well, we did not need the costume, we're stripping. Anyway, what matters most is that everyone enjoyed our performance...

Here's a picture of my co-strippers that night.
